- 1 Vêde quão grande caridade nos tem dado o Pae, que fossemos chamados filhos de Deus. Por isso o mundo nos não conhece; porque o não conhece a elle.
- 2 Amados, agora somos filhos de Deus, e ainda não é manifestado o que havemos de ser. Porém sabemos que, quando se manifestar, seremos similhantes a elle; porque assim como é o veremos.
- 3 E qualquer que n'elle tem esta esperança, purifica-se a si mesmo, como tambem elle é puro.
- 4 Qualquer que commette peccado, tambem commette iniquidade; porque o peccado é iniquidade.
- 5 E bem sabeis que elle se manifestou, para tirar os nossos peccados; e n'elle não ha peccado.
- 6 Qualquer que permanece n'elle não pecca: qualquer que pecca não o viu nem o conheceu.
- 7 Filhinhos, ninguem vos engane. Quem obra justiça é justo, assim como elle é justo.
- 8 Quem commette o peccado é do diabo; porque o diabo pecca desde o principio. Para isto o Filho de Deus se manifestou, para desfazer as obras do diabo.
- 9 Qualquer que é nascido de Deus não commette peccado; porque a sua semente permanece n'elle; e não-pode peccar, porque é nascido de Deus.
- 10 N'isto são manifestos os filhos de Deus, e os filhos do diabo. Qualquer que não obra justiça, e não ama a seu irmão, não é de Deus.
- 11 Porque esta é a annunciação que ouvistes desde o principio: que nos amemos uns aos outros.
- 12 Não como Caim, que era do maligno, e matou a seu irmão. E por que causa o matou? Porque as suas obras eram más e as de seu irmão justas.
- 13 Meus irmãos, não vos maravilheis, se o mundo vos aborrece.
- 14 Nós sabemos que já passámos da morte para a vida, porque amamos os irmãos. Quem não ama a seu irmão permanece na morte
- 15 Qualquer que aborrece a seu irmão é homicida. E vós sabeis que nenhum homicida tem a vida eterna permanecendo n'elle.
- 16 Conhecemos a caridade n'isto, que elle deu a sua vida por nós, e nós devemos dar a vida pelos irmãos.
- 17 Quem pois tiver bens do mundo, e vir o seu irmão necessitado e lhe cerrar as suas entranhas, como estará n'elle a caridade de Deus?
- 18 Meus filhinhos, não amemos de palavra, nem de lingua, senão de obra e de verdade.
- 19 E n'isto conhecemos que somos da verdade, e diante d'elle asseguraremos nossos corações;
- 20 Que, se o nosso coração nos condemna, maior é Deus do que os nossos corações, e conhece todas as coisas.
- 21 Amados, se o nosso coração nos não condemna, temos confiança para com Deus;
- 22 E qualquer coisa que lhe pedirmos, d'elle a receberemos; porque guardamos os seus mandamentos, e fazemos as coisas agradaveis perante elle.
- 23 E o seu mandamento é este: que creiamos no nome de seu Filho Jesus Christo, e nos amemos uns aos outros, como nos deu mandamento.
- 24 E aquelle que guarda os seus mandamentos n'elle está, e elle n'elle. E n'isto conhecemos que elle está em nós, pelo Espirito que nos tem dado.

Basic Hash Usage Explained
At getBible, we've established a robust system to keep our API synchronized with the Crosswire project's modules. Let me explain how this integration works in simple terms.
We source our Bible text directly from the Crosswire modules. To monitor any updates, we generate "hash values" for each chapter, book, and translation. These hash values serve as unique identifiers that change only when the underlying content changes, thereby ensuring a tight integration between getBible and the Crosswire modules.
Every month, an automated process runs for approximately three hours. During this window, we fetch the latest Bible text from the Crosswire modules. Subsequently, we compare the new hash values and the text with the previous ones. Any detected changes trigger updates to both our official getBible hash repository and the Bible API for all affected translations. This system has been operating seamlessly for several years.
Once the updates are complete, any application utilizing our Bible API should monitor the hash values at the chapter, book, or translation level. Spotting a change in these values indicates that they should update their respective systems.
Hash values can change due to various reasons, including textual corrections like adding omitted verses, rectifying spelling errors, or addressing any discrepancies flagged by the publishers maintaining the modules at Crosswire.
The Crosswire initiative, also known as the SWORD Project, is the "source of truth" for getBible. Any modifications in the Crosswire modules get reflected in our API within days, ensuring our users access the most precise and current Bible text. We pledge to uphold this standard as long as getBible exists and our build scripts remain operational.
